1.What type of bedding is typically utilized in hotels?

Various hotels opt for different types of hotel bedding. Typically, budget chain hotels might select 200-thread-count (200T) hotel bedding, while 3-star hotels tend to utilize 250T hotel bedding. 4-star hotels often prefer 300T hotel bedding, and 5-star hotels go for a range of 350T to 500T hotel bedding.

2.What type of bedding is utilized by 5-star hotels?

Typically, 5-star hotels use hotel bedding fabrics with thread counts ranging from 300T to 500T,white plain sateen, sometimes with special embroidery frame design. The specific thread count depends on the owner’s budget.

3.What is the reason behind hotels exclusively using white bedding?

Firstly, white hotel bedding appears cleaner and tidier, allowing hotel guests to easily see the hotel’s clean environment and feel confident about their stay.

Secondly, white hotel bedding is easier to launder, as white color doesn’t fade during the bleaching process.

4.Does any hotel use hotel bedding with colors?

In general, economy chain hotels and 3 to 5-star hotels tend to prefer using white hotel bedding. However, some Airbnb accommodations and guesthouses may choose bedding with colors to create a more distinctive culture and ambiance.

5.What kind of bedding does the Marriott utilize?

The Marriott brand encompasses a variety of hotels, ranging from 4-star to luxury 5-star establishments. Different hotels will have varying standard specifications and dimensions for their hotel bedding. For specific details and standards, please contact our sales personnel for consultation.

6.What is regarded as the finest bedding?

It’s not possible to say which type of bedding is the best; what matters most is suitability for the hotel’s positioning and budget. For economy chain hotels, 200-thread-count (200T) bedding might be the best option both in terms of cost and durability, as it has the longest lifespan. On the other hand, for luxury 5-star hotels, 500-thread-count (500T) bedding could be considered the best, as the fabric is silky and smooth.

7.Which kind of bedding has the longest lifespan?

In terms of fabric durability, 200-thread-count (200T) plain weave bedding has the longest lifespan, which is determined by the fabric’s plain weave structure. Additionally, due to this structural design, this fabric becomes softer with each wash.

8.What bedding options for hotel are currently trending?

In general, 3-star hotels tend to choose bedding with 3cm stripes and some other check and floral pattern design, while 4-star or 5-star hotels usually opt for all-white plain bedding with more decoration by bed runner or bed cover.

9.What products are included in hotel bedding?

Hotel bedding typically includes fitted sheet, flat sheet, bottom sheet, top sheet, pillowcases, duvet covers, and pillow shams. Some hotels choose to use fitted sheet instead of flat sheet, while others opt for flat sheet instead of fitted ones. The term “bottom sheet” refers to a fitted sheet used to cover the mattress. As for “top sheet,” it’s used because some hotels forego duvet covers and instead sandwich the duvet between two top sheets.

10.Do you produce any other products besides bedding?

In addition to bed sheets, duvet covers, and pillow cases, we also manufacture duvets, pillows, mattress protectors, mattress toppers, bed skirts, bed runners, throw pillows, towels, restaurant tablecloths, chair covers, napkins, and other related fabric products for hotels, resorts and accomodation projects.

11.What are the indicators of high-quality hotel bedding?

You can determine good quality bedding through several factors of fabric:

First,Thread count of the fabric – higher thread count generally indicates better quality.

Second,Dyeing and finishing – well-dyed fabrics tend to be smoother and softer.

Third,Shrinkage – fabrics with minimal shrinkage are often of higher quality.

Fourth,Lab tests for factors like tensile strength and tear resistance are also crucial indicators.

12.Which bedding raw material is considered the most luxurious?

The raw material for all hotel bedding fabrics is cotton, and the world’s finest cotton includes American Pima cotton, Egyptian cotton, and Xinjiang long-staple cotton. Due to the exceptionally long fibers of these cotton types, the resulting fabric is very soft and elastic, while also possessing strong tensile and tear resistance properties.

13.Which fabric is the softest for hotel bedding?

The softness of fabric can be controlled by adding fabric softeners during the dyeing process, but excessive use of softeners can compromise the fiber’s integrity and reduce the fabric’s lifespan. Under normal dyeing conditions, fabrics with thread counts of 400T and 500T are very soft, making them suitable for high-end luxury star-rated hotels.

14.How are the dimensions of hotel bedding configured?

The dimensions of hotel bedding are calculated based on the size of the bed and mattress. In general, the width of the bed sheet is usually equal to the width of the mattress plus twice the height of the mattress, and an additional 15 to 20cm for tucking in. The length follows the same algorithm.

The dimensions of the duvet cover typically involve adding 70-80cm to the width of the mattress and 30-40cm to the length of the mattress.

Standard pillowcase sizes are usually 50x66cm, 51x76cm, and 50x90cm.

15.Are King, queen, twin, full, and single sizes standard dimensions for bedding?
Generally, king, queen, twin, full, and single sizes are standard dimensions. However, hotels might adjust the bed sizes based on their room dimensions. To ensure the bedding dimensions are suitable, it’s best to provide the measurement sizes to our sales to work out right sizes.

16.How many quantities of bedding does the hotel should purchase?

In most cases, the minimum recommended configuration for products such as bed sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases, and towels that require daily replacement and cleaning is 3 sets per day. If the budget allows and considering a favorable hotel occupancy rate, an upgraded configuration of 3.5 sets can be considered.

17.How should hotels clean bedding?

  • Categorization: Sort the bedding based on color, fabric type, and the severity of stains.
  • Pre-washing: Place the sorted bedding into the washing machine at 80% of its capacity, add water to a medium level, and wash for 2-3 minutes. This helps dissolve dirt and removes some water-soluble stains, which are then drained with the water.
  • Main Wash: After the pre-wash, drain the water, refill it to a medium level, and add the cleaning agent. Adjust the water temperature according to the type of fabric: around 80°C for bathrobes and 80-85°C for bed sheets, towels, and table linens. This intensified wash enhances the chemical reactions between the detergent and stains, acting as a disinfection and sterilization step.
  • Bleaching: This step supplements the main wash by removing pigmented stains that weren’t completely removed before. Oxygen-based bleach (oxygen bleach powder) is mainly used. Keep the water temperature strictly between 65°C and 70°C and maintain the pH of the solution between 10.2 and 10.8. Adjust the quantity of bleach based on stain type and fabric structure.
  • Rinsing: After the main wash, drain the water and refill to a high level for rinsing. This involves two drainage cycles and two spin cycles to ensure the detergent is thoroughly rinsed from the bedding.
  • Neutralization and Softening: After rinsing, some residual detergent might remain on the bedding. Add neutralizing and softening agents and wash for 4-5 minutes. Spin dry to enhance the bedding’s shine and softness.
  • Ironing, Drying, and Finishing: For post-cleaning treatment, arrange the bedding neatly and place it in a high-temperature steam ironing machine at around 230°C for ironing. Use a dryer at around 85°C for drying.

18.What specific precautions should be taken during the washing process of hotel bedding?

  • When using oxygen bleach in combination with detergent, if chlorine bleach is used, soak the bedding in water first before application to avoid contact between the bedding and highly acidic, alkaline, or corrosive chemicals.
  • Method for Treating Stubborn Stains: For stubborn stains, soak the affected area in warm water at 40°C with an appropriate stain remover for 1-2 hours.
  • Chlorine bleach is not to be used on colored bedding.
  • Iron and dry until completely dry (bedding used in normal conditions is about 80% dry), preventing yellowing and mold during prolonged storage.

19.What are the main causes of damage to hotel bedding?

Firstly, damage caused by washing, for example:

  • Improper timing for adding detergent. Materials should not be added to the machine when there is insufficient water, especially when using bleach chemicals. This can cause the detergent to concentrate in certain areas of the fabric, leading to damage.
  • Improper use of bleach. Caution should be exercised when using bleach-based detergents, especially chlorine bleach (bleach powder). Incorrect temperature or high concentration during use, as well as excessive residue after washing, can result in discoloration and even small holes in the fabric.
  • Exposure to corrosive chemicals. Some cleaning products used in hotels contain corrosive agents, particularly strong acidic cleaners, which can significantly affect cotton fabrics. If cotton fabrics accidentally come into contact with these chemicals and are not promptly cleaned, it can lead to localized damage and decreased fabric durability.
  • Misuse of detergents. Laundry detergents used in laundries are chemical products that require proper knowledge and responsible usage. Incorrect mixing of detergents or improper dosing can lead to such outcomes.

Next, reasons related to machinery and human factors, for instance:

  • The washing machine’s drum has rough spots or certain areas are not smooth, which can cause scraping or abrasion during the washing process. This can manifest as yarn pulls, fraying, small holes, which then progressively expand.
  • Insufficient pre-sorting before washing, allowing sharp or hard foreign objects to mix in. This can result in damage during washing.
  • Excessive force or contact with sharp objects when loading or unloading the machine before or after washing, causing punctures or tears.
  • Poor distribution during washing spin cycle or excessively long spinning time can cause tearing due to mechanical stress. Alternatively, inadequate washing or rinsing time, incomplete removal of alkali or residual chlorine, or deficiencies in the washing program can also contribute.
  • The quality of the bedding itself and the storage environment. Cotton fabrics should be stored in a moisture-free environment with good ventilation. Warehouse shelves should have smooth edges. Additionally, measures should be taken to prevent pest infestations in the storage area.

20.Why does hotel bedding become yellowish?

Due to the nature of low-temperature chlorine bleaching, bleach requires specific temperature conditions. Oxygen bleach powder needs a temperature above 30°C to release active oxygen and exhibit bleaching properties. The higher the temperature during the main wash, the more complete the release of active oxygen. Chlorine bleach, on the other hand, must be added to the washing machine at temperatures above 60°C for effective bleaching. Temperatures below 60°C can easily cause cotton fabric bedding to turn yellow and sustain severe damage.

21.Why is the bedding not becoming white or bright after washing?

If the bedding is not becoming white or bright after washing, the main reason is that the stains on the fabric fibers have not been thoroughly removed. When there are residues of stains around the fabric fibers, attempts to whiten or bleach will be in vain.

The first thing to address is the detergent. The key detergent used in laundering bedding is laundry powder. High-quality laundry powder requires a formulation with around 9 to 10 types of raw materials. This includes surfactants, stain removers, emulsifiers, anti-deposition agents, buffers, and whitening agents, among other essential components. Only when these factors work synergistically under specific conditions can the stains on the fabric fibers be thoroughly removed without causing secondary contamination to the fabric fibers.

22.What should be taken into consideration when storing hotel bedding?

1)If bedding needs to be stored for an extended period, notify the laundry facility.

2)Thoroughly rinse the bedding to avoid chemical residue.

3)Iron and dry until completely dry (bedding used in normal conditions is about 80% dry), preventing yellowing and mold during prolonged storage.

4)Properly categorize new and old hotel bedding. Distinguish between natural wear and tear and abnormal damage in old bedding. Different strengths between new and old bedding call for varying dehydration times.

5)Prevent direct contact between cotton fabrics and strongly acidic or corrosive chemicals.

6)Exercise caution during the transportation of hotel bedding to prevent secondary contamination and accidental tearing.

27.What is the square weight of the fabric?

The square weight of hotel bedding fabric is typically between 105 GSM and 130 GSM. Different thread count fabrics have different square weights. The square weight depends on the fabric’s yarn type and yarn density.

28.Do you hotel bedding fabric shrink?

This is inevitable; all cotton textiles will experience shrinkage due to the nature of cotton material. However, we rigorously control this during the bleaching, dyeing, and fixing processes to ensure it falls within an acceptable range for qualified products.Generally, the shrinkage rate for all-cotton fabrics is around 5%, while for polyester-cotton blends, the shrinkage rate is around 3%.

29.Can your products pass Inter-tex lab tests?

Yes, our hotel bedding fabrics can pass Intertex textile testing for factors including shrinkage, composition, yarn type, yarn density, pH value, tear strength, tensile strength, and colorfastness. You can contact our sales personnel to obtain previously conducted testing reports.
